White Lake Description

Located in the extreme south central part of the state about 2 miles north of Pecan Island. Approximately 54,500 acres [85 square miles] in size and is 7 miles wide and 14 miles long. This is a remote open lake and can only be accessed by the Schooner Bayou Canal the old Intracoastal Canal on LA 82 about 12 miles north of Pecan Island or via the Superior Canal west of Pecan Isalnd. The Superior Canal access requires a permit.
